Join us at The Fox & Hounds this December for a fantastic festive celebration. Christmas is a time to relax, have fun and catch up with friends and family, so why not do all of this over a delicious meal? With our festive guest ales, mulled wine and Christmas treats, the Fox really does get that Christmas sparkle in the atmosphere!
Our 3 course Christmas menu has been carefully created to include some new and exciting dishes alongside the traditional Christmas favourites.
Our Christmas menu will run from Friday 27th November to Thursday 24th December 2020 alongside our normal menu.
Winter minestrone soup pesto croutons and parmesan shavings with Henllan brown bloomer bread (vgo, gfo)
Rosemary infused baked camembert olive oil and black pepper ciabatta bread sticks served with fig and red onion marmalade
Rustic paté of duck, chicken breast and pork tenderloin with pear compôte and crusty bread
Prawns, avocado and chilli bruschetta with rocket leaves and lime dressing
Stuffed mushrooms with roasted peppers, butternut squash, black olives and sage with arrabiatta sauce, parmesan and chestnut crust (vgo, gfo)
Traditional roast crown of turkey, pigs in blanket, goose fat roast potatoes, wild boar sausage & cranberry stuffing, honey roasted parsnips, braised red cabbage, pancetta & rosemary sprouts
Honey roasted & wholegrain mustard ham hock with white wine parsley sauce, roasted shallot mash potato, buttered green beans and chantenay carrots
Butterbean, red pepper, spinach and root vegetable stew, tomato & herb dumplings, melting goat cheese crust with black olive & herb crusty bread (v)
Slow braised shin of beef, red wine, mushroom & smoked bacon sauce, sweet potato and thyme mash and crushed carrot & swede rosti
Roasted cod fillet on a bed of savoy cabbage with chorizo butterbean risotto served with a tomato & red pepper purée and tenderstem broccoli
Traditional luxury Christmas pudding with brandy sauce
Banoffee cheesecake with whipped vanilla cream and chocolate shavings
Meringue topped with winter berries and mulled wine and cherry compôte served with Cheshire Farm raspberry ripple ice cream
Sticky toffee & date pudding with Cheshire Farm rum & raisin ice cream
White chocolate crème brûlée with fruit coulis and a strawberry shortbread biscuit
Selection of Carron Lodge cheese served with celery, grapes, bread, crackers and winter chutney (£3.50 supplement)

Booking is required when dining from our Christmas menu along with a pre-order no less than 14 days before dining. Christmas party bookings must be made by telephone or in person ONLY, unfortunately they cannot be booked through our online system. Please call 0151 648 7685 to check availability and book your table.
Maximum party size – At Christmas we appreciate that a large percentage of our bookings are festive parties and therefore would normally have more than 6 people on a table. Due to current government guidelines, we will happily take your booking in anticipation that rules will change by December however if the current guidelines still remain in place then we will not be able to accept group bookings larger than 6 people not from the same household or bubble.
A pre-order is required no less than 14 days before dining. A non refundable deposit of £10 per head is required at the point of booking. Please return the pre-order form to firstname.lastname@example.org or pop it into the pub.
